Hi guys! So lately, I’ve had this thing with styled shoots and craft cocktails! If you read my Epcot Food and Wine Fest post, you know I did a tasting and learned a ton about craft cocktails. Ultimately, it inspired me to bring another fun cocktail for any occasion! A Rose Gin and Tonic.
I’ve been spending a lot of time on the internet trying to learn about the different type of craft cocktails, bitters and mixology. I had no idea what a big community there is for people that create craft cocktails from scratch. I also didn’t realize that it is literally an art of using the freshest ingredients possible to craft the perfect cocktail. It’s pretty cool!
Difference between Shaken and Stirred:
We all know it: “It’s shaken baby not stirred… “. That’s how it goes, right?! Well, I have finally figured out what that means. When you shake a cocktail you’re diluted it with the water given off by the ice. When you stir the cocktail you’re keepig it’s original flavor!
Making a Rose Gin and Tonic:
Now what you came for-
- 1.5 oz. Hendrick's Gin
- 6 oz. Tonic
- Lime to garnish
- 1/2 Tsp Rose Water
- Sugar for the Rim.
- Ice
- Use a lime to wet the surface you will add sugar to. Pour sugar onto a plate and dip glass into sugar. Combine Tonic, Gin, and rose water over ice. Stir the cocktail until combined. Garnish with lime.
- Stirred not shaken

I did not know that about the shaken vs the stirred. I guess I’m going to start stirring my cocktails from now on.
