A little over a year into blogging and I’ve found myself finally creating relationships with bloggers. I’m naturally a very shy person that has a hard time opening up to others, which is why it’s taken me so long. I have always felt like I wasn’t doing it right or that I didn’t know enough to hold conversations with other bloggers. Truthfully, I was only hurting myself by having this mentality.
Very recently I started thinking about connecting with other bloggers and the RIGHT bloggers. Finding my tribe, if you will. This blogging process can be extremely lonely sometimes and very discouraging. By not putting myself out there to other bloggers I was letting myself stay in that place of discouragement. The truth is when I started to connect with other bloggers, I felt encouraged, I LEARNED A LOT and realized I’m not alone.
Here are a few ways I began building relationships with other bloggers:
Join Blogger Networks
Blogger networks are just like your Facebook groups you all like and know, but better. I recently joined Style Collective where I have access to so much information and so many girls trying to do the same as me. It’s been so refreshing to be able to connect with like minded girls that are trying to help build you up.
I pay $10/month, but it pays for itself. It is packed with information like how to pitch brands, SEO help, FTC guidelines and bloggers willing to help. I highly suggest checking it out if you want an awesome community.
Comment on other blogs
Find your girls and let them know what you’re thinking and loving about what they are doing! This is something I’ve been a little lax about and need to get back into. The more you comment on your faves the more likely you are to be noticed and start to build those relationships. I know I always try to engage more with the girls I see leaving me comments the most often.
plan a meetup
This one scares me the most. I’ve always said I have social anxiety, self diagnosed of course. But, one thing I love about blogging is how much it’s forced me to get out of my comfort zone. Planning meet-ups is one of the best ways to network and find bloggers to relate to and build relationships with. I’ve met some amazing people at these meet-ups and I’m just getting started.
Style Collective has made this easy, too. There is a map within the platform that lets you know the SC sisters close to you. I’ve met about 3 in my area that I would have not known about otherwise.
be relatable
Being relatable cannot be stressed enough. You need to be telling your story in a way that resonates and attracts like minded people. I struggle with this from time to time, but I know that being able to tell my story in the right way is very important.

This was an awesome post. I love how you said “finding my tribe” when referring to connecting with other bloggers. I too have wanted to connect with others bloggers and honestly on a personal level I would love to do collaborating. The blogging world is filled with communities but as you mentioned it can get lonely. I will be checking out the Style Collective, so thank you for that! I will also be sharing this post with one of my friends who is having a hard time continuing to blog.

Style Collective sister right here! I love it so much and could not begin to agree more with what you said. Blogging can definitely be lonely and it helped tremendously meeting other bloggers at some recent SC events. You just feel like you’ve got a support system once you branch out of your bubble and link up with other creatives.

This is such great advice! When I first started blogging I was so shy to try to make any blogging friends. I’m so happy that I finally branched out because now my blogging friends are some of my closet friends!

My absolute best friends I met on the internet! We all connected originally to form a “mastermind” for blogging purposes, but now we’re all just best friends and talk about everything from blogging to shopping to marriage and essential oils and traveling and it’s just awesome.

I love this! I am 100% an introvert so I don’t like to go out much and meet new people! But I have ‘met’ some of the best ladies through blogging- it’s such a wonderful community! xo
