Happy Tuesday! This all actually started when I read Jamie’s post about how she felt inspired after stepping out of her style comfort zone. If you know me personally, or even if you follow on Instagram or my blog, you might notice I’m very plain Jane and I typically play it safe. Another big thing that aids that behavior is: I’m a Cancer – I naturally want to stay in my shell. However, I’m here to tell you, getting out of your comfort zone is the BEST feeling. It is true what they say: great things never come from comfort zones.
When I found this red jumper, I hesitated before buying it. It wasn’t until Jose reminded me, in the store, that I needed to get out of my comfort zone and this jumper would help with that. And he was so right. This little jumper and I had a really fun time on the beach, in PUBLIC, shooting these pictures. I’m pretty sure I had a ton of stares, but I was getting out of my comfort zone and it was liberating!

I’m slowly beginning to realize that by letting ourselves have these “comfort zones” we truly are not letting ourselves live to our fullest potential. I also realize that I have come a long way with my comfort zones. If I didn’t get over being public on the internet with my thoughts, I never would have started a blog. If I didn’t start this blog I would’t be slowly figuring out how I am. If I didn’t get over meeting new people, I wouldn’t be attending BlogHer 17 or even meeting new local bloggers.
The point is, let yourself explore new things. Even if that just means buying a red jumper. Don’t hold yourself back. What is the worst that can happen? You fail? Or you succeed and it’s the start of something amazing?
Either way, at least you got out of your comfort zone and tried.
What are your thoughts? let me know below!

This looks adorable on you!! I’m very basic with my style as well, usually. I like neutral colors and that’s all I ever wear. But since it’s summertime, I’m trying to wear a couple brighter colors, haha.

That is super cute! I’ve been afraid to try jumpers. I like this one because if I didn’t know better, at first glance I would have thought it was a dress.

Good for you, girl! I’m all about stepping out of your comfort zone and getting out there and experiencing new things. I learned from an early age how IMPORTANT that is in life (my parents took me out to California to do acting when I was 11 years old and I had to really put myself out there and break out of my shell, as I was somewhat shy. Decided acting wasn’t ultimately for me, but the life lessons there have carried on throughout the rest of my life).
Keep pushing beyond your boundaries β be it in fashion, travel, talking up new people, whatever β because the more you do it, the less scary it becomes, and the more confident you grow in who you are (and discover some things about yourself along the way). Pushing past the “known” into the “unknown” is to me the spice of life. It gets your adrenaline going and your heart pumping, does it not?
Keep it up! And again β love your blog. It’s one of my faves π

Definitely get out of your comfort zone! There’s no growth there. It’s always great to jump out!
