St Patrick’s day is almost here! This week I teamed up with Kaitlyn at Simply Saliba to bring you some fun DIY St. Patty’s day shirts!
St. Patty’s day shirts are the best part of celebrating! People always bust out the funniest shirts. But for me, I like to have something no one else has.. hence the DIY shirt I’m bringing you!
I chose to make a long sleeve shirt, mainly so I can put shamrocks on the elbows. I have a slight obsession with things on the elbow!
First thing I did was bust out the ironing board. I figured it would be easiest to work on for this project.
Next I positioned the sleeves on the board to measure where the shamrocks would go (& by measure I mean completely eyeball ;] ). And use mod podge to glue them to the fabric. Now, originally I was only going to use the mod podge to help keep the shamrocks in place so I could later sew them in place, but the mod podge held up quite nice!
P.s – i found these pre-cut shamrocks at the dollar store!
Once I did that, I cut out each letter, took the clear backing off and placed them directly in the spots I wanted them. After a good 30 minutes of positioning and re-positioning it was time to turn the iron on to the cotton setting.
I did one section at a time using a face cloth as a barrier between the letters and the iron plate. Hold the iron on the letters for 20 seconds and slowly peel the cloth from the letters. Once each section is done turn the shirt inside out and repeat the process.
And there you have it! Kiss me, don’t pinch me!
Super cute and super comfy – just how I like it.
I’m also bringing you a few choices from amazon, in case you don’t want to do a DIY this year.
Enjoy! OH! and – don’t worry, be hoppy! 😉
share!
