It’s almost Halloween! Which has become one of my favorite holidays since moving into my own home. Growing up my mom always got pretty excited and decorative for each holiday, but it’s become even more fun when I get to put my own spin on it!
I know that this marbling thing has been done and has been seen. I mean, Even I have watched so many videos before actually giving it a try. So, while I was on my weekly (more like DAILY) trip to Michael’s, I picked up these ceramic skulls knowing exactly what I was going to do with them!
Michael’s is such a great place to just walk through and get ideas. If you’re anything like me I literally walk through thinking ” I can make that…”. While walking around I saw this wooden skull painted entirely black with a red rose on the forehead. I thought it was the CUTEST thing – and ultimately is what gave me the idea to give my marbled skulls some flowers. You know, make them girly.
What you need:
Disposable Bucket
Tooth Picks
Ceramic Skulls
Scissors
Black Nail Polish
Water
Red Felt
Glue Gun
First, fill your bucket with water high enough to dip each item entirely under.
Take the nail polish and pour it into the water creating the designs you like.
Next, use the tooth pick to spread it out or create spaces in the polish.
Once you have your design in the water, dip your pieces in entirely.
Let me be honest. I was so upset with how my skulls came out. Mostly because the vision I had in my head was completely different from how they turned out. But, I decided to go with it. It’s unique, right? Art is in the eye of the beholder… right? Ok, moving on.
Your skulls should be dry now ๐
For felt roses I followed this tutorial from Do It and How. Super easy tutorial!
Figure out where you want to put the roses and glue those babies on!
A little after thought I had was making them little flower crowns. How cute would that be? You should do it. Make them a flower crown and let me see it!
There you have it! A really fun DIY tutorial for Halloween! My DIY Marbled Halloween Skulls.
What kind of DIYs are you guys working on for Halloween?!

Hey there Tiffany, just seen these posted over at the ‘Pleasures of the Northwest’ blog for their link party and had to stop by and check these out. I kind of get addicted to all the Halloween DIY’s I see at this time of the year!
You may say these turned out not how you wanted them to but I still think they look brilliant! And I love the process. I’ve seen some short videos of this technique on Facebook but I’ve never attempted it yet.
Anyways, have a great week!

I’m coocoo for Halloween. I think I put more effort decorating for it more than I do Christmas. I’m totally going to use this technique to add some flare to some plain skeletons and skulls I’ve got. Pinning to share!
