Since buying the house, I have been dying to have a little brunch situation. I am the type of person to wait until everything is perfect before inviting people over, so now has been the perfect time. I finally have enough seating and an adorably decorated dining room to welcome guests into.
As I get older the idea of having parties become less and less appealing and the idea of a brunch becomes more desirable. So, welcome to my cute little brunch situation with Fresh From Florida!
On the Menu:
I love Brunch specifically for the menu options. Mixing french toast with champagne and fruit? Sign me up. For my menu, I kept it cute and as aesthetically pleasing as possible. I know, it’s kind of crazy that my life is based on how things look these days, but hey. It makes me happy.
I also like to keep things as simple as possible. So, I’m sticking to the basics here. On my brunch menu I had: champagne + OJ, french toast, bacon, eggs, croissants, watermelon, strawberries with fruit dip and cucumber and sweet corn salad!
This was the first time I ever made the cucumber and sweet corn salad, but it was the first thing to be completely gone. Seems like such a weird combination, but believe me it’s super refreshing.
Cucumber and Sweet Corn Salad:
What you need:
1/4 Olive Oil
1/4 juice of Lemon
Chives
Mint Leaves
Basil Leaves
Wisk together olive oil and lemon juice. Cut up the fresh chives, basil and mint and wisk into the oil & lemon juice.
Cut the corn off of the Fresh From Florida sweet corn husk and cut up the cucumbers.
Toss is all together and let it sit in the fridge until ready to serve.
Fresh From Florida sweet corn and watermelon are in season now in Florida! So this menu was super fresh, just how I like it.
Set the Table:
My favorite part! I love to put all of the food in the center of the table to allow for each picking and making of the plates. I set the table with my matte black silverware and glass plates. Something about glass plates make the meal feel fancier.
Enjoy:
In my opinion, a brunch should be super laid back, lots of catching up and lots more champagne drinking.
